actor tools

Actors Tools provides an easy and reliable workflow to export a character from Maya to a game engine or other 3d software.

It only exports what the game engine, such as Unity or Unreal, understands and makes sure that the animation works as expected.
A default export of a character can lead to problems in the target software if the animation hasn’t been baked properly or if the character’s skeleton is not a single hierarchy.

Actor Tools builds a fully export compatible rig from any given character, called the Actor, which is driven by the animation rig.
It also supplies a toolset for easy management of rig and actor scene files, animation transfer and the final export.
This way it’s possible to animate the character with a full featured rig without the risk that the final animation will be compromised during the export.

Actor Tools 2.0 has taken a great step forward from the initial version in regards of user experience and improved workflow.
