SmoothSkinClusterWeight is a Maya plug-in based on the great tf_smoothSkin by Tom Ferstl, allowing you to smooth the skin weights for your model fast and efficient.
Even though the original script makes refining of skin deformation much better compared to the Maya default toolset it has some drawbacks, like missing undo functionality, slow response with more detailed meshes because of the python nature of the plug-in and not keeping the given maximum number of influences.
SmoothSkinClusterWeight provides undo and a much faster workflow with hires meshes, as well as keeps the number of maximum influences. It also works not only as a brush but can be used with a component selection. This can be very helpful in areas which are inaccessible with a brush or just to work evenly with the help of edge or polygon loop selection. The type of component selection can be vertices, edges or faces.
