With SHAPES the creation and editing of weight maps has never been easier and adds to the streamlined process of creating corrective shapes. Gain a fast access to previously created maps and transfer them between different target shapes.

Weight map editing includes

  • copy and paste to multiple target shapes at once
  • invert
  • mirror
  • trim on the positive or negative axis
  • export to file
  • import to multiple targets at once
  • freeze the apply the map to the target shape permanently
  • delete

When working with the SHAPES brush or Maya freeze tool (Maya 2016 and up) the weight maps can also be used to save and load the frozen areas to a weight map file. This way weight maps can be used to create frozen areas for the sculpting process or vice versa.
